I recently bought an iPhone 16 Pro Max and it is almost impossible to use. When I want to take a picture the phone constantly goes back to lock or appears a circle of death. In addition, when I want to search for something that starts with the letter "s" in "Siri suggestion" my iPhone but not only because my iPad also starts to lag. IOS 16 is currently impossible to use smoothly and effectively. Should I do something about my iPhone cameras or wait for the next update?

Sorry but you're wrong, the new Iphone 16 & ios18 is laggy and extremely hot. A new product when launched should be better than the old product otherwise there's no point in buying a new phone. My old 13 ran better than the 16 straight out of the box and wasn't laggy or hot to touch .
Garbage battery that runs so hot I can't hold the phone to my ear and stops charging in the car because it's too hot!
Consider cars, they update them with new better equipment, better motors, better metallurgy, better electrics etc.
Apple needs to do better.

I have the same problem with my iphone 16 pro max, when I try to take a picture the screen goes black and then the camera app crashes. A restart of my iphone fixes the problem temporarily until the problem is back.

AMEN! My iPhone 14 Pro was way faster, Siri dictation is so dang slow. I’m losing my mind. I feel like I’ve been warped back to the iPhone 3G.!! All that money for a phone that’s slower and lags worse than models that came out 15 years ago, are you kidding me? This is what I was waiting for. Shame on you, Apple., also not cool to play tricks on everybody regarding Apple Intelligence, knowing that it was not available, but to to the phone as the key reason to go out and buy one.
I have owned every single iPhone since the very first one and have been a loyal Apple owner for all products since it’s inception, if that age is me, oh well, but I’m very disappointed in the performance of this phone!!!

I am so glad I found you all. I upgraded from the 12 Pro Max to the 16 Pro Max. I am in full regret mode and I wish I had not turned in my 12 to Verizon. I can't seem to do anything on the 16PM. It freezes and restarts. I can't access iMessage, etc. Is this a bug fix issue or a hardware issue? (Please forgive my lack of knowledge.)

I just bought an iphone 16plus and it lags so much and glitches , i updated to IOS 18.0 and it still lags!! When i go to the home screen it freezes and then lags a bit before returning to home. When i open safari theres a little split second of glitching, and when the phone is off and i try to turn it on, it doesnt turn on sometimes!! I have to wait like 10-20 seconds for it to turn on, even if i click buttons or tap on the screen!!

same thing on iPhone 16 pro - laggy, slow and full of screen glitches. It seems slower than my 13 pro

I am having the same issue with apps and safari on the 16 Pro Max. Paid too much money for a phone that runs like a 4S.

I went to the Verizon store yesterday.. and just checking the OTD total price... and wanted to think about it a week.. i was determin to get a 16 pro max and upgrade my 14 pro max.. but the reviews from all of you.. it looks like I will just keep my 14 pro max and just wait for the iphone 17 now...
looks like there are too many problems with the phone at this time... I wish I had better batter life and a better camera.. but having less problems outweights the benefits of a new phone.

As a loyal customer of almost all Apple product, after upgrading from 15 Pro Max to 16 Pro Max, what frustrates me the most is the delay in screen responsiveness. It’s utterly unbearable to type. Sincerely wish this can quickly be fixed in the upcoming IOS update. Finger crossed.

I’d like add the battery drain is phenomenal, try using it and it’ll run out very quickly.
Also I get the message when in the car on charge, it’ll recharge when it gets cooler. The phone becomes too hot to touch.

I am also having similar issues. Phone is little laggy compared to 13 pro max which I traded in. Was expecting a lot from 16 pro max... Screen little bit stutters when open the phone, animation is little off... Little lag in the OS as well. Hope software update fixes this..

Upgrading from a 13 Pro Max to the 16 is the least exciting Apple experience I’ve ever had.
I’m having major buyer’s remorse.
It is not our job to troubleshoot this problem with “better questions”.
A $1,000+ purchase should be flawless out the box.
Siri/voice-to-text is painfully slow.
Camera app has a mind of its own.
The overheating is true, it’s hot to touch but only sometimes.
Texting androids is glitchy: We now get “😊 at a Gif” instead of the smile being attached to the image.
I’m embarrassed, not proud of my new device.
So glad to see my misery has company.

Wow! I hope this gets better. Non stop lags, crashing, glitches, apps don’t work, iMessage has been going in and out , my contacts and favorites don’t work half the time, it usually takes a reboot or factory reset to fix, but it sucks because I feel like I’m resetting it all day long. Buyers remorse!

I have the same experience with iphone 16 pro max ios 18.. i feel that my 13 pro max run faster and more performant than this is new 16 pro max 😐😐😐 waste of money, I should have changed my iphone 13 battery instead of buying the new 16 🙂↕️ what a shame
