I like how it's shot, and I like the performances, but there's a kind of standard international arthouse vibe to it that made it feel maybe a little less special than it could be. Maybe this is a specific hangup, but I've just seen a lot of arthouse debuts end up being road movies, as if there were no other metaphors for the path to healing from trauma than a long journey through some place, usually accompanied by a person who doesn't really want to be there.
